A Mexican man who attended a Ghost concert in Mexico City earlier this month is the first person recorded to die of coronavirus in Mexico.
Mexico News Daily reports the man was one of 50,000 folks who attended a Mexico City gig on March 3rd. The man was suffering from diabetes already, and was hospitalized for five days before dying.
One other person who attended the concert has contracted the COVID-19 disease, but is currently at the hospital in stable condition.
The widow of the deceased Mexican fan told reporters that her husband had no history of respitory illness and she believed that it was "probably" the Ghost concert where he contracted the disease.
Over 300 suspected cases of coronavirus have been reported in Mexico. Worldometers currently lists over 237,000 cases of coronavirus, with the death toll approaching 10,000. The spread began in China in late December, and is believed to have originated in bats. In the US, 35% of those hospitalized are under 35, so it's a virus that affects people of all ages.
Earlier this month, a New Zealand man was diagnosed with coronavirus, and had shortly prior attended a Tool concert.
