Ozzy Osbourne is no spring chicken. Last month, he revealed to Good Morning America that he is currently battling Parkin's II. Parkin's II is a form of Parkinson's Disease, and according to Sharon is "not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does effect certain nerves in your body." In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Ozzy revealed he was first diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2003.
"I'm not dying from Parkinson's. I've been working with it most of my life," Ozzy told The Times. "I've cheated death so many times. If tomorrow you read 'Ozzy Osbourne never woke up this morning,' you wouldn't go, 'Oh, my God!' You'd go, 'Well, it finally caught up with him.'" Ozzy noted that the medication he takes for his tremors results in short term meory loss
Ozzy was struggling with his health in 2019, as he suffered from both a bad bout of pneumonia and then re-awakened some old (and serious) injuries during a bad fall. Ozzy called 2019 "one of the most fucked-up years of my life."
But, Ozzy is moving forward and plans to release his new album, Ordinary Man on February 21. "It's been a pretty incredible, interesting career. People have written me off time and time again, but I kept coming back and I'm going to come back from this."
While Ozzy has a ton of dates on the schedule, he is still not committing to actually fulfilling them. Speaking to the Times, he says "When? I don't know," he said. About returning to the live stage, he added: "I don't want to go back out there until I'm ready."
