Shocking Revelations

Prophets Of Rage is Rage Against The Machine w/ Chuck D. & B-Real on Vocals, Not Zack De La Rocha

Basically an Audioslave revival without Chris Cornell.

Basically an Audioslave revival without Chris Cornell.

Earlier this afternoon, when teasers for "Prophets of Rage" started circulating, a Rage Against the Machine reunion seemed too good to be true. That's because it wasn't true, sadly.

In a new report by Rolling Stonesources close to Rage Against the Machine said "This is not a Rage-specific reunion,"adding "There's a lot more to it. There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of exciting news to be revealed." The source also stated the project would only include "some" members of Rage. Now, we know who those some are.

A reliable source told us that Zack De La Rocha was not going to be a part of the reunion, and now it looks like another blog, Amplify (cached version), heard the same thing. Instead, Prophets of Rage will be guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk joined by Public Enemy's Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real on the mic. This would explain why Chuck was also tweeting teasers today.

Amplify reports the new all-star group is planning to perform songs from all three respective bands and the tour is being mapped out currently.

Looks like the cat is out of the bag, and it's a little disappointing. Will you go see Prophets of Rage?
