Edward Anthony Pomponio, better known as Eddie Sutton, of the New York hardcore band Leeway has died at 59 years old after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. News of Sutton's death was posted on his Instagram with the following statement:
"Edward Anthony Pomponio
"Passed 4/19/24 peacefully in his sleep. We would like to invite all his extended family to come say good bye to our son and brother.

We wish Sutton's family and friends all the best at this time. Sutton was a founding member of Leeway alongside guitarist A.J. Novello. Leeway released four records between 1989 and 1995 before splitting up in 1996.
