That Time SKELETONWITCH's Guitarist & TREVOR STRNAD Drove Everyone Insane With Movie Quotes On Tour

"The more it drove EVERYONE else on the tour crazy the funnier they thought it was."

The Black Dahlia Murder-07

Stories are beginning to surface as the metal world mourns the loss of The Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad. Some are deeply personal, some are really damn funny. This one is the latter. Skeletonwitch has shared the story of the time that Skeletonwitch guitarist Nate Garnette and Strnad kept shouting Billy Elliot (a British comedy-drama from 2000) quotes at one another during a U.K. tour until everyone was driven insane.

The culmination of the story was one quiet night where everyone was tired and the day was winding down, only for Garnette and Strnad to piss everyone off once more by shouting the quotes. Because as the story goes, "the more it drove EVERYONE else on the tour crazy the funnier they thought it was."

"Like so many, we’re absolutely devastated by the passing of Trevor Strnad.

"He was unbelievably kind, endlessly funny, and utterly silly.

"BDM was kind enough to take Skeletonwitch out on MANY tours and those were always the most fun. Man, did we look forward to an upcoming BDM tour. We knew the shows would be good but we were excited for the HANGS!

"As I sit here and consider the enormous hole that Trevor’s death leaves not just in the metal community but the hearts of everyone that knew him, I find myself intermittently chuckling through the tears as I remember so many of Trevor’s antics.

"I keep thinking about the time we shared a tour bus for a 20+ date UK tour and Nate and Trevor decided they were going to endlessly scream Billy Elliot quotes at each other. All. Day. Long. It was like a twisted version of “Marco Polo” and quickly became obnoxious.

"The more it drove EVERYONE else on the tour crazy the funnier they thought it was.

"Screaming across the venue as we loaded in, hollering across street corners if they saw each other, and then we'd all be laying in our bunks at night…everything and everyone was FINALLY quiet and just when you were dozing off into much needed rest, Nate would break the silence from his bunk with an 'Oi!' and Trevor would respond with 'Dancing Boy!!!'"

"It hurts something awful to know that call won't get a response anymore.

"All of our love goes out to Brian and the rest of the @theblackdahliamurder_official family.

Tributes have been pouring in non-stop as the world reels from the sudden loss of The Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad, from lists to heartfelt memories of a modern metal legend, even to a petition for the GRAMMYs to include him in their In Memoriam segment.
