The metal and hardcore communities were shocked to learn of the death of Kyle Pavone, frontman of We Came As Romans, last Saturday, August 25th.
While details were mum, we learned earlier in the week that Pavone spent a few days in the hospital. Today, the band and Pavone's family confirmed the cause of Kyle's death as an "accidental overdose."
In a new statement posted on the band's socials, they go into detail:
“On Saturday, August 25th, we lost our son, our brother, our best friend and our bandmate to an accidental overdose.”
“The opposite of addiction is connection. If you are feeling disconnected or lost, there is help. Please take action, whether that is talking to your families and friends, meeting with a counselor or joining a support group. If you are a friend or family member of someone who is struggling, do not be silent! If you are an artist in need of support through your struggle, we have created the Kyle Pavone foundation in Kyle’s honor to help.”

They went on to announce a public event in October at the Fillmore in Detroit.
Kyle's family have since announced the Kyle Pavone Foundation. According to the foundation’s website, it was created “out of love for Kyle by his caring family as a means for friends, colleagues and fans to remember Kyle.”
The mission statement of the foundation: “The Kyle Pavone Foundation is a promise to serve and advocate for the musician community in their time of greatest need, providing hope and a means to carry on.”
Fans are encouraged to donate on the foundation’s website, or by texting “Support KYLE” to 20222 or sending a check or money order to:
