Today is a good day to be a Deftones fan. We've been following the Deftones' progress on their new album since the spring, and today comes news of the album title and official release date. Their seventh studio album will be released on November 13th, and will be called Koi No Yokan, which is a Japanese phrase that I had to look up. It means:
The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. Differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable.
Additionally, the band have organized a full-on US tour next month with support from Scars On Broadway, which is guitarist Daron Malakian of System Of A Down's other project. The 'tones are sort of returning the favor, after SOAD invited them to open a string of dates earlier this summer. Here are the announced dates:
