We heard rumors that Metallica would be headlining Heavy Montreal, but this is even better!
The festival, which goes down Aug. 9 and 10 at the Parc Jean-Drapeau, has went all out with their lineup. In addition to Metallica (playing their on request set, where ticket buyers choose the set as we predicted), we got Slayer co-headlining, which in itself is great. Then there's bands like Lamb of God, Anthrax, Whitechapel, Cynic, Unearth, Hatebreed, Exodus and a whole slew of others playing! Just check out this flyer.
If you live even a slightly unreasonably distance from Montreal you should probably consider going. Tickets go on sale Mar. 7 via the concert's website and are $165 for a general admission weekend pass or $400 gold weekend pass that includes a special viewing area, private bathrooms and different concession stands. Totally worth it! Just look at that lineup! The site will also help you out with accommodations around the area, because they're correctly assuming most of us don't know Montreal at all.
