Without counting their 2012 EP Faustian Echoes, the last full-length we've gotten from Portland-based black metallers Agalloch was 2010's Marrows of the Spirit. Four years later and obvious speculation as to where they've been, the band recently announced they'll be dropping their new record The Serpent and the Sphere on May 13 via Profound Lore Records! You can check out the gallery of photos the band posted here on Facebook while they were tracking at Cloud City studios.
It's worth it to take the time to scroll through the photos because some of them are cool. One that caught my eye was a photo that announced they'd be using a 100-year old zither on the record! I wonder where they got that from? Regardless, the photos are interesting and new Agalloch is always a good thing.
