Behemoth's followup to 2014's The Satanist has been pretty slow moving, with Nergal having said he wanted to take his time with the album, as well as doing his solo project, Me And That Man.
Now in a new interview with Rockhok, Nergal says the band has about "ten or thirteen, already, sketches of new songs," and he hopes to release the album sometime in fall 2018.
"I know it's [a long] time [from now], but time's flying and we're super stoked about this new stuff. I like the approach with Behemoth too, because when I went from [doing the Me And That Man] folk project] to do Behemoth songs, I was super hungry — I was hungry for doing radical sounds. And I really hope that it sounds different again, that it's refreshing and it's something redefining and rejuvenating in what we do with Behemoth — again. But let's see, because maybe it's too early to talk about it."
In the meantime, it looks very much like we'll be getting a Behemoth live album this year as well. The band posted this teaser, which shows some legit live footage and Nergal teasing "something awesome" coming really soon.
