Vocalist and guitarist Zakk Wylde isn't messing around when it comes to new material. Wylde tells Billboard that he's planning to start writing a new Black Label Society record in April, and then hit the studio in May. Wylde adds that he doesn't have anything written for the new album right now, but he's not much a planner either.

"I'm going to do some writing, I guess, in April, and [in] May and June, we'll [record] and have that one ready to roll. I don't demo or stockpile shit. Never have. I'm not like Prince, where he's recording stuff all the time. I just like to come up with a riff or an idea and be like, 'Why don't we track that one today?' It's like the beginning of a new season. It's always fun."

Wylde also commented on Ozzy cancelling the North American leg of his No More Tours 2 tour, saying he's ready to hit the road when Ozzy is ready.

"You just keep busy. As far as with the boss, Ozzy’s taking his vitamins and hitting the iron, and just healing up and getting ready. And when he’s ready, we’ll roll."

Wylde did not perform on Ozzy's most recent solo album Ordinary Man. Instead, Ozzy recruited guitarist and producer Watt, bassist Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses), and drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot). Though who knows – maybe Wylde and Ozzy will reunite in the studio for the next one?
