Dave Lombardo's main focus now that he's never coming back to Slayer is a new project called Philm, which we are very intruiged by.
We've covered the band before, but we're excited to hear the second full-length release from the band, Fire From The Evening Sun out September 16th.
Lombardo offered a choice quote about the new music:
"I believe this album has a daring, callous temperament about it that really sums up our mindset right now. No improvising, no fluff. It's heavy and in your face from start to finish.
"You may think you know what PHILM is, but you don't. If you haven't seen us live, you have no idea. We thrive on being out of our comfort zones and want fans to take that ride."
Lombardo promises more straight-forward heaviness than the more improved feel of the band's debut album, Harmonic. Here's the album art:
