DEATHSPELL OMEGA Announce New EP

Black metal fans rejoice; Deathspell Omega, in their typical low-key, don't-explicitly-mention-this-to-anyone style, have just revealed Drought as the name of their upcoming EP (it was really less of an announcement, more of 'the product appeared in the Season of Mist e-shop') The EP is set for a June 22nd release date, and you can pre-order it here. If you're familiar with the band (and you should be), you know exactly what you're in for; some of the most genre-bending, mind-fucking, wildly extreme music in recent memory. Paracletus, the conclusion to a trilogy of monumental albums, was without question one of my favorite albums of 2010. I'm incredibly eager to hear what they've conjured up next. The artwork for Drought is yet to be revealed, but you can hit the jump for a tracklist and a short but powerful teaser-paragraph from Season Of Mist.

From Season Of Mist: "Drought has the sour taste of the inexorable; it is a musical journey through the last moments before disaster hits. This recording displays some of the most lethal song writing ever witnessed from the band while retaining their unmistakable sound."
