Dee Snider is getting back to his heavy metal roots. He and Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta have been teasing a collaboration for a while and today we finally have some concrete details.
Dee announced his solo album will be released on July 27th via Napalm Records and it will be called For The Love of Metal. Dee commented on the news in a press release:
"I am beyond excited to be working with one of the world's leading labels for heavy music. It's a perfect home for this album! I believe there's something for every hard rock and metal fan on this record and I cannot wait to unleash it on the world July 27th!"
Confirmed guest appearances on the record include Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Mark Morton (Lamb Of God), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust) and Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow).
Snider is clearly going for a heavier approach based on some of these contributors and I'm curious what his angle on metal is in the year 2018. I'm not expecting a goregrind album, but it will be interesting to see how Dee incorporates heavier elements into his music.
We'll keep you posted when any music is released.
