Deftones recently began teasing what looked like them sitting down and writing or recording a new record, but now we're certain that's what they're up to in some capacity.
The band has posted two more photos from the sessions on their Instagram and violinist Earl Maneein (SEVEN)SUNS, The Dillinger Escape Plan) happens to be next door to Deftones rehearsing with his own group. He commented on a post about the sessions saying "whatever [Deftones is] working on sounds fucking dope," which means we can infer two things about what's going on – Deftones is working on new stuff and that it sounds fucking dope.
This also means that we won't have to wait four years like we did between 2012's Koi No Yokan and 2016's Gore, which is excellent news.
