In what might be the weirdest headline you'll see this week, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is playing guitar on a new Santana album. According to Carlos Santana himself in an interview with ABC News, "my brother Kirk Hammett from Metallica is playing [on it]. He's tearing it up."
Which means either Santana is about to get way heavier on his new album, or we're about to hear Hammett play some stuff we've never really heard him play before. Personally, I'm hoping for the latter.
I guess Hammett has some time though, since Metallica is moving at what drummer Lars Ulrich said is a "glacial pace" on the new album.
"[It's been] glacial," he said. These are the craziest of times and nothing is letting up. There's a little bit of movement, but it's hard to do a lot when we're not together."
