Paradise Lost is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to their 2017 album Medusa. Paradise Lost's career is rife with stylistic changes and subtle songwriting choices that really differentiate one album to the next, and according to vocalist Greg Mackintosh in an interview with That Drummer Guy, the new one is going pretty eclectic. And that includes '80s goth music influences on a few songs.
"There's a couple of songs in the new stuff that kind of pick up where Medusa left off, but, for the most part, it's a lot more varied. It's hard to pigeonhole, but a couple of songs, I would say, are almost '80s goth music. There's a lot of stuff in between and a lot of quite eclectic stuff on there. It's going to be quite a varied album, I think."
Paradise Lost's new album will be their second with drummer Waltteri Väyrynen, who replaced Adrian Erlandsson in 2016.
