Possessed, who you know from its highly influential debut album Seven Churches in 1985, has been reunited since 2007, though no new material has surfaced. That is, until 2018, when Possessed will be putting out its first album in 32 years via Nuclear Blast!
Vocalist and founding member Jeff Becerra seems pretty stoked about being signed again and about the new material.
"Possessed are pleased and honored to announce our joining the Nuclear Blast family. Currently, we are hard at work writing new material for our upcoming first full-length release on Nuclear Blast. I want to give special thanks to everybody at Nuclear Blast, and to all of our supporters. This has been a long time coming and this is a very exciting time for us."
Becerra performed on Possessed only two albums and one EP, all released between 1985 and 1987, though no other founding members are back. Instead, Possessed outside Becerra consists of guitarists Daniel Gonzalez (Gruesome) and Claudeous Creamer (From Hell), drummer Emilio Marquez (Asesino, ex-Brujeria), and bassist Robert Cardenas (Coffin Texts, Malice).
So who's stoked for some old school death metal in 2018?
