Last week, Bloodbath revealed everything you needed to know about their upcoming album. Well, almost everything. They omitted the most important news: who is their new vocalist?
After months of speculation, it's been revealed to be Paradise Lost's Nick Holmes. He follows in the footsteps of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt and Hypocrisy's Peter Tägtgren. Holmes might not be known as a death metal vocalist, but guitarist Jonas Renkse (who also plays in Katatonia, of course) tells Metal Hammer he'll fit in just fine:
"Ever since I got into Lost Paradise back in 1990," says Jonas Renkse, "Nick Holmes has been one of my favourite growling vocalists out there. He was always audible and articulate but still deep and definitely morbid. It is a great pleasure to work with him some 25 years later after I was introduced to his thunderous roar!"
Now we just need to hear what the new iteration of the group sound like together. Are you excited for this lineup?
