Triumph Of Death is the Hellhammer tribute band headed up by the former Hellhammer frontman himself, Tom Gabriel Warrior. Triumph Of Death has now announced their debut live album Resurrection Of The Flesh recorded across three festivals in 2023 – Hell's Heroes Festival in Houston, Dark Easter Metal Meeting in Munich, and SWR Barroselas Metal Fest in Portugal. Resurrection Of The Flesh was produced Warrior and Triptykon's V. Santura, and is the closest thing you're getting to Hellhammer ever coming back.
As Warrior stated in 2019, "Hellhammer will never return and will never be reformed. It is absolutely impossible to reform a band so closely linked to a very specific and unique period in time. But Hellhammer's music exists, and it is an extremely important part of my life's path. And I would like to play it onstage before my demise."
Hellhammer existed between 1982 and 1984, and is considered one of the pioneers of black metal. Resurrection Of The Flesh is out November 10 and is available for pre-order here. Resurrection Of The Flesh runs as follows:
