Yesterday, May 18th, was the one year anniversary of the tragic death of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. It also happened to be the first night of the Rock on the Range festival, and Alice In Chains were one of the evening's headliners. The Seattle grunge legends couldn't help but pay tribute to a close friend.
Poignantly, AIC covered 1987's "Hunted Down," which was the first track from their first EP, Screaming Life, and "Boot Camp," the last track on Soundgarden's 1996 album, Down on the Upside, the last album before their initial breakup. The stage lights formed a "CC" on one side for "Chris Cornell" and "SG" on the other for "Soundgarden."
