Amigo the Devil is one man named Danny Kiranos and he has a style that is like bluegrass meets metal. Kiranos employs dark humor and doomy, metal-influenced music for a whole new genre – murder folk. "Quiet As A Rat" highlights this throughout the video with some tongue and cheek attempts at torturing the main character, which don't quite work out as expected. As with past Amigo the Devil releases, "Quiet As A Rat" contians deeper messages within the humorous approach.
“Faith without doubt seems unhealthy,” says Kiranos. “It’s an extreme that leaves no room for growth and honest learning, only the mindless repetition of old and sometimes hateful traditions. ‘Quiet as a Rat’ explores the bridge between faith and doubt, nurture and abandon…the fine line between belief and control. It plays to the true value of our spirit and whether we have a purpose to find or if we are the purpose and are simply here to be used and forgotten. You know…real fun stuff.”
"Quiet As A Rat" was taken from Amigo The Devil's upcoming album, Born Again, due out April 16th release via Liars Club/Regime Music Group.
