CANNIBAL CORPSE Frontman Rails Against Politicians: "Realize It's Not About You, It's About The World"

"It's about making this country and the world a better place for everybody else. Listen, you idiots! It's so easy."

I am not being facetious when I say that Elliott Fullam is one of the best journalists in heavy metal today. Because he is a 13-year-old kid, it always seems the musicians he interview have their guard down a little, and they always seem more honest. I guess it's much harder lying to a 13-year-old kid? A few months ago, he conducted perhaps the most revealing James Hetfield interview I'd ever seen. He interviewed Slayer's Tom Araya and Tom found himself opening up about issues he has with Kerry King, something he hadn't really talked about with other members of the press.

In his newest interview, Elliot interviews Cannibal Corpse's George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. Fisher has no problem speaking his mind, and found himself veering into political territory, even though he was being very careful to try not to alienate anybody, but still making his point.

Asked if he could rid this world of one thing, Corpsegrinder pondered for a moment and then said "poverty, war, stuff like that. All the bad stuff. Life's too short. It sucks that some people can't live a good life, because – you know, we were walking and seeing homeless people down the street. Poverty, I would say would be great. If nobody was poor and everybody had a has and a family, there would be a lot less strife in this world. Of course, if we had a few different people in power, that would be it, but you know I'm not mentioning any names because we're not political. But if some people would get their heads out of their butts, and change things, poverty would fall in line with all of that. I would definitely want to change things for better in the world.

When asked at the end, in a lighter segment if he would prefer politicians or farts, Corpsegrinder quickly reacted "Farts! I don't care for politicians at all. I'm not saying they're not trying to do their business. I just think they all need to get out of each other's way, or do what I said before, come together! Realize it's not about you, it's about the world. Not about the people putting money in your campaign pockets, it's about people, it's about making this country and the world a better place for everybody else. Listen, you idiots! It's so easy." He added "Seriously, Cannibal Corpse has always been about no politics, no religion, but each of us have our own thing. I just wish everyone would come together. Respect everyone and what they want to do and I understand that we're all just trying to live in this world, and there's less fortunate people who aren't sitting back and complaining about every little thing that goes wrong in their life because they don't know where they're eating next. Then you got people at the top, that are making the rules, and arguing with each other that are fighting over the dumbest things while there are hurricanes smashing Puerto Rico, and I'm not meaning just Trump, not just pointing at him. He's got people and they all got to work together and they're doing a fucking terrible job of it. That's really it.

The entire interview is an awesome watch. Remaining Cannibal Corpse dates can be found here. See more of Elliot's excellent interviews here.
