Drummer Mayowa Ifah, bassist Alejandro Barrios, guitarist Alan Strange, vocalist Sean McManus, and keyboardist Brent Wilkinson recently came together for a Black Lives Matter themed cover of Fear Factory's "Big God / Raped Souls." The cover is renamed "Blue Gods / Black Souls" and Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares approves.
Here's what the quintet had to say about their cover in a joint statement.
"In June 2020, five musicians came together to update an early, classic Fear Factory track for the #BLM movement, spurred on by the deaths of Elijah McClain, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and too many others. This song is made for them, for the movement. It will never be monetized or sold. Our message is simple: Black lives matter. The police are not gods."
