Germany's Grave Digger has been around the heavy metal block more than a few times. The band originally formed in 1980 and helped pioneer the first wave of Teutonic metal along with contemporaries like Running Wild and Helloween. Grave Digger broke up in 1987 after a series of member changes, but frontman Chris Boltendahl reformed the band with a fresh line-up in 1991. Since then, Grave Digger has released a steady stream of albums that range from good to great and have played to crowds all over the world.
The band is currently in the midst of a world tour with fellow German metal legends Blind Guardian, and their preparing to release a collection of re-recorded material from their early years as a treat for fans. The collection is called Exhumation – The Early Years and it will include two bonus tracks from the band's next studio album which is set for release sometime in 2016 as well.
