Danica Roem this past election day by being Virgina's (and the nation's) first out trans person to be elected and serve in a state legislature. Danica got some love from the metal community, especially when fellow Virginian and Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe shouted her out when she won, so naturally she would return the favor, and fly the flag high for heavy metal.
During an appearance on The Opposition Report with Jordan Klepper, Danica noted she rocks with "old school thrash metal." Perplex, Klepper asked if there was new school thrash metal? Danica confirmed their was. Klepper wondered if new school thrash metal "was just constant noise." Danica "noted the noise had to go underground for a bit but Municipal Waste brought it back," referring to her fellow Virginians. Klepper wondered if she was talking politics or naming a thrash metal band. Watch the full interview below:
