Swiss masters of all things strange Schammasch has announced their new record The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean due out October 25. The band is now streaming th massive first single "They Have Found Their Master" in all its crushing, horrific glory.
Schammasch said of the single: "'They Have Found Their Master' is the looming of a tempest wave closing in, the destructive force of a monolithic wall of water, swallowing everything in its way to culminate in the melodic furiosity of classic 90s black metal towards the end, additionally embellished by Kathrine Shepard's hauntingly beautiful vocal contribution."
The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean features vocalist Kathrine Shepard (Sylvaine) on "They Have Found Their Master" and "Image Of The Infinite".
The record was produced by Schammasch's own C.S.R. alongside Michael Zech (The Ruins Of Beverast, Secrets Of The Moon), as well as mixing and mastering courtesy of Markus Stock (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak). As with The Maldoror Chants: Hermaphrodite, the artwork for the release was created by Mexican surrealist Héctor Pineda, with the layout completed by C.S.R.'s own Eye of Saros.
