Kick your day off with a crushing, slow new single from melodic death metal masters The Absence! We're premiering the band's new song and video "Black Providence" today, which should only serve to affirm what everyone already knows – The Absence is a masterclass in their style and simply cannot do any wrong.
"We have never been ones to shy away from a slower tempo. And on 'Black Providence', the sheer density becomes whole within the monolithic cadence," said vocalist Jamie Stewart. "Sometimes we find ourselves afraid to face the pain of reality. The only way to achieve solace is to push through it; to make the tough decisions; to not take the easy way out."
The Absence will release their new album Coffinized on June 25. Coffinized was produced and engineered by The Absence drummer Jeramie Kling and guitarist Taylor Nordberg, and mixed by Kling. The album was mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Immortal, Katatonia, Scar Symmetry) at Sweden’s Black Lounge Studios.
