Watch: PEARL JAM Covers FOO FIGHTERS' "Cold Day In The Sun" As A Tribute To TAYLOR HAWKINS

Which originally featured Hawkins on vocals.

Pearl Jam paid tribute to the late and great Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins during their show on May 7 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. Pearl Jam covered Foo Fighters' 2006 track "Cold Day In The Sun," which saw frontman Dave Grohl switch spots with Hawkins for the lead vocals role. In keeping with that tradition, Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron got up to do lead vocals for the track and did a great job!

The cover also featured drummer Mark Guiliana behind the kit, as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith on percussion. Red Hot Chili Peppers also filled in for Foo Fighters at the New Orleans Jazz Fest this weekend after Foo Fighters cancelled all their tour dates in the wake of Hawkins' death. According to Consequence, Dave Grohl and other members of Foo Fighters still attended the festival.

"Foo Fighters were originally supposed to play the fest, but dropped out after the passing of Taylor Hawkins. As a close friend of Hawkins, Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith invited Hawkins' family and Foo Fighters to New Orleans to celebrate the drummer's life.

"'That's what [Hawkins' wife, Allison] wants. She doesn't want it to be anything other than, 'Let's celebrate music, let's celebrate our friends, let's celebrate Taylor. This is what he would want and he would be very happy that you guys are playing and he would want it be nothing but a positive experience,' Smith explained."

Hawkins impressive résumé over the years included drumming for Foo Fighters from 1997 to present day, as well as forming his own bands like Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders and NHC featuring Jane's Addiction members Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney. Hawkins also drummed on Coheed & Cambria's 2006 album Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two, and his own solo EP Kota in 2016.
