It took a little while to grow on me, but Scale the Summit's latest effort The Migration is a really solid listen. If "lush technical atmospheres" were a genre, then they're the kings.

It's a cool record and a solid listen through like I said before if you're into that kind of thing, and I'm pretty on the fence "about that kind of thing." On one hand I really appreciate the knowledge and writing that goes into something like that. Simply as music, and not just "metal," it's good. Therein lies exactly what's wrong with it though; it's just good. There's nothing that really jumps out at me or anything like that through almost the entire record. It just flows from one song to another, and I couldn't tell you what track I'm listening to at any given point. It's fancy background noise. But now the real question is if my opinion o the record is completely false! You decide!
