We've been on the edge of our seats for the last two years, ever since early hints of a possible Bill & Ted threequel arose. They landed a director, revealed some plot details and then the whole thing was delayed due to budgeting.
But, now the comedic duo have found a new home on a new medium… comic books!
Nerdist reports that BOOM! Studios will be putting out a comic book series titled Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return. The books will be written by Brian Lynch & Ryan North and illustrated by artists Jerry Gaylord & Ian McGinty. A release is planned for sometime in March, 2015. Here's the synopsis of the comics:
Following the time-traveling historic epic of Excellent Adventureand the turbulent life and death of Bogus Journey, Bill and Ted must now fulfill their destiny as the inspiration for galactic harmony! How can someone hate the Wyld Stallyns as much as the evil Chuck De Nomolos? With the power of time travel, Bill and Ted set their sights on turning a young 27th-century Nomolos’ non-non-heinous attitude into something most outstanding and metal!
