Metallica frontman James Hetfield is set to star as some sorta sheriff in the upcoming film The Thicket. A handful of photos have made their way online and you really gotta wonder how much Hetfield had to do to look the part. Kickass mustache? Already on his face. Generally gruff voice? Nailed it. Kickass mustache again? You bet, dude.
This is also not Hetfield's first time starring as law enforcement in a major film – Hetfield played Bob Hayward in the 2019 Ted Bundy flick Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Better Black Album royalties and his budding career as a cop-type in films, it's safe to say that Hetfield is gonna be alright. Oh, and that Metallica band still does pretty okay too!
The Thicket is directed by Elliott Lester, written by Christopher Kelly, and produced by (and starring) actor Peter Dinklage. The Thicket also features Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, and Gbenga Akinnagbe.
The following a brief description of The Thicket from IMDb: "Set in east Texas, the film follows a boy who, after his sister is kidnapped by a violent killer known only as Cut Throat Bill, enlists a fierce bounty hunter named Reginald Jones who grudgingly becomes the leader of the group of outcasts searching for the stolen girl."
