7 Horns 7 Eyes hasn't done anything since its 2012 debut album Throes Of Absolution, though in 2014 frontman JJ Polachek said the band was demoing new material for what would end up being a series of three EPs.
Polachek has checked in with us now three years later and said the band is shelving the epic three EP concept, and has been working on a proper followup to Throes Of Absolution, hopefully out this winter.
The 3 album concept epic thing was taking wayyyy too long and what we're just going to do is a traditional follow-up to Throes, and we're shelving the epic concept for later. We wanna just get out some real strong material because it's been too long. So in regards to that, it's gonna be a set of standalone songs, sounding like a logical progression from Throes. Very big, a lot of it at the pace of the songs we did on Throes, that sorta doomy, dramatic pace, but bigger. Much bigger. A big focus of the themes is gonna be how we aren't a Christian band at all anymore. A lot of it rooted in emotions and philosophy, the music itself is going to reflect that. The big influences for this one are A Winged Victory For the Sullen, Hans Zimmer, Alien-era SYL, and old Decapitated.
We're hoping to get it out proper in winter time.
More as we know it, but we're stoked.
