Black Wail, the band once hailed by MetalSucks as "achingly melancholy to High on Fire heavy," is back with a new album called Chromium Homes on December 15 via Rhyme & Reason Records. The band is streaming the title track from its new album through us exclusively today, which is great because that means we had all night to listen to it on repeat. "Chromium Homes" is a slow burner that drops tons of Deep Purple-esque melodies, The Atomic Bitchwax-type solos with a Stevie Ray Vaughn edge, and of course vocals that could melt the paint right off a house.
The song lyrically explores the poisonous waste from abandoned industrial sites in Jersey City, which coincidentally will also melt the paint right off a house and maybe give you an extra arm or two. Such is the life of us New Jersey folk, right?
