Outside of making new Slayer music, guitarist Kerry King has been working on his Coldcock Whiskey Company. They claim doesn't give you a hangover, which rules! It's also called Coldcock, which is basically just begging for me to make dick jokes about it. But I won't because I am an adult.
According to the brewery's (brewery? Do they brew whiskey?) website:
Coldcock American Herbal Flavored Whiskey is a blend of aged whiskey, herbs and spices from around the world. Unlike comparable flavored brands on the market, Coldcock includes ingredients that take the burn out of drinking whiskey and won’t give you a sugar hangover the morning after. Coldcock is nearly half the sugar of competing shot brands and 70 proof.
The whiskey brand is owned by Mayhem Fest co-founder John Reese and Michael Arfin. David Draiman of Disturbed also considers himself a fan.
I am a bit interested in what this tastes like, especially considering I have never even heard of herbal whiskey. I usually don't really think about what's in my alcohol, but this has me questioning my decisions up until this point. The alcohol is for sale in California, New York, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, and South Carolina, with more states joining the distribution throughout the year. It's also going to be featured in California bars soon, so check your local establishments and let me know how it is!
Kerry isn't the first person to assosiate with a booze company, as it's becoming a new revenue source for many bands. Check out our previous Bands & Booze coverage.
