Lamb of God's new self-titled record sees the band once again appearing on the Billboard Top 200. The band's new, self-titled album, came in at number 15 on the charts, with 30,000 units overall – 27,00 of which were pure sales, which shows you the purchase power of metal fans.
That's not the only chart the new album popped up on. Lamb of God are currently sitting pretty at #2 on the current album sales chart. They have the #1 hard rock album in the country and the #2 rock album in the country.
But how do the sales and chart positions compare to their previous releases? Ultimately, the album falls short of 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang, which pushed 47,000 units first week to come in at #3 on Billboard. The difference of course is that the world wasn't in a pandemic, so all things considered, a 36% sales drop isn't bad at all.
Some previous chart positions for the band:
- Resolution (2012) sold 52,000 copies to come in at #3 on the Billboard 200
- Wrath (2009) sold 68,000 copies to come in at #2 on the Billboard 200
- Ashes of the Wake (2004) sold 35,000 copies to come in at #27 on the Billboard 200
Congrats to Lamb of God on the positions. Have you heard the record? What's your favorite track?
