Marilyn Manson was very much in the headlines last week, with allegations from Evan Rachel Wood and five other women of abuse from the shock rocker making headlines throughout the week. The result was a small uptick in streaming numbers, while radio stations dropped his recent single “Don’t Chase The Dead.”
Billboard reports Manson's on-demand streaming was up a relatively small 7%, up to 6 million for the week ending February 4th. Digital sales were up 40% to 2,000. Manson's latest album, We Are Chaos, sold 50 more units than the previous week (400 total), according to Stream N’ Destroy newsletter.
Radio stations stopped playing “Don’t Chase The Dead,” even though it was getting steady airplay for the last twelve weeks. The track dropped off Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. It was at #34 the previous week.
