To find a metal album that hit the top of the U.K. charts, you have to go back to Iron Maiden's 2015 album Book of Souls, until today. Because, Slipknot is number one, bayyybeeee.
As expected, the 'knot knocked Ed Sheeran's No. 6 Collaborations Project from the top of the charts, where it had been sitting comfortably for four weeks.
This is a huge cause for celebration, as it's Slipknot's first #1 since 2001's Iowa. It's been eighteen years since Slipknot had a #1 album in the U.K., and this one deserves it.
The album is already being projected to land on #1 in the U.S. Billboard charts as well, which typically come out on Monday.
Slipknot is currently out with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth on the Knotfest Roadshow tour. Remaining dates below:
