Botch

Botch band

Mathcore, metalcore, whatever. If it’s loud, angular and kinda spazzy, it’s probably thanks to Botch. The forefathers of the overtly technical calculus metal we’ve been graced with in recent years, Botch filtered the best elements of hardcore, math rock and heavy metal into their two wildly influential full lengths, 1997’s American Nervoso and 1999’s We Are the Romans; all while thoroughly fucking with their fans and critics alike. Musical differences led to the band’s demise in 2002, and while they left us with the An Anthology of Dead Ends EP as a parting gift, it’s been an ungodly 15 years since a proper Botch album was released. Maybe one day the band’s former members will put their various post-Botch projects on hold and finally give in to the numerous reunion offers they’ve been fielded with over the years.
