Roadrunner United
In 2005. Roadrunner Records turned twenty-five and decided to celebrate in a way that RR fanboys could appreciate. They gave four well known songwriters on their label free range to hit up anyone from the Roadrunner roster past or present and make a handful of songs. Those songwriters were Joey Jordison of Slipknot, Robb Flynn of Machine Head, Dino Cazares of Fear Factory, and Matt Heafy of Trivium, and those guys went crazy in every dimension of metal. Jordison made a death metal song with Glenn Benton, James Murphy, and Steve DiGiorgio. Flynn made an awesome Machine Head/Killswitch Engage style mashup with Howard Jones and Jeff Waters. Matt Heafy even made the best King Diamond song the king never wrote with the man himself. Aside from one hiccup, it is entirely enjoyable. The guys produced a fantastic overview of the label and in some ways most of heavy music.
