Reports emerged last year that Manowar guitarist Karl Logan had been arrested in August. These counts reference offenses that took place between June 18 and August 2 of 2018. Logan is facing federal child pornography charges.
A new report from Blabbermouth notes that Logan was booked into jail after his first hearing yesterday, on Tuesday, May 28th. He’s charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, for allegedly having six disturbing videos showing a child as young as 4 years old engaged in sexual acts.
Logan has yet to offer a formal plea but the judge decided it would be best if he was held in jail until his next hearing, which could happen as soon as today. He was booked on Tuesday night at 6:47pm.
Logan's lawyer, Brad Smith, tells WSOC TV Logan has been “extremely cooperative with the investigation from the beginning, and he’ll continue to do that." Smith seemed to insinuate that there would be an explanation for the charges.
“You oftentimes do see with those that do end up pleading, there’s a direct correlation to something that happened in their childhood,” Smith said.
Logan is out of jail on bond and will make his first court appearance next week, likely on Tuesday.
WCCB Charlotte filed a report last year with details of what was found in Logan's home leading to the arrest.
Fair warning – what you're about to read is extremely unsettling and vile.
The warrants say Logan was in possession of several videos which depicted girls between the ages of four and 12-years-old engaged in a variety of sexual acts with unidentified men. Each video is described in graphic detail, including one scene where a girl age 10-12 “chokes and becomes visibly upset.”
