All-around winner and Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin is having a rough year. He's been arrested at a Denver airport and almost missed a gig until a fan had to bail him out. Then, he was arrested at a different airport, missing another gig. And of course, there was the time where he just decided mid-show to call it a day angering his loyalest fans, and eventually sucked so bad at a show that he was accused of lip-syncing and got so much negative feedback that the band deleted their Facebook page.
But Wes' tour of destruction is not over. The latest stop is Renville County, Minnesota where Scantlin was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Wes didn't go down easy, as when cops noticed a potential drunk driver in Wes, rather than pull over, Wes decided he could out-drive these cops and led them on a 100MPH car chase on the highway. When he finally pulled over, Scantlin was slurring his words and reeked of alcohol. When given a breathalyzer test, Wes tested four times the legal limit allowed to drive while drunk, which came out to a .310 blood/alcohol level. In addition to the DWI charge, Scantlin is also charged with attempting to flee a police officer in a motor vehicle.
You know, in the past, we've given Wes a bunch of shit for being a mess on stage and being a dick to fans. But none of that stuff put actual lives at risk like when this complete moron decided to get in a car and drive with this much alcohol in his system. Whatever Wes' problems are, he needs to get them checked before he gets himself and others killed.
