Bongzilla is back and higher than ever with their filthy, resin-heavy new song "Free the Weed". Its slow, it sounds baked as all hell, and the riffs are crunchy beyond belief. What else could you want? "Free the Weed" is off Bongzilla's brand new album called Weedsconsin out on April 20 (of course).
Weedsconsin was recorded as a trio after bassist Cooter Brown retired in March 2020 due to health and family reasons. Guitarist Muleboy has moved over to bass to fill in for Brown, though he's still occupying vocal duties as well.
Since marijuana is popular with rock 'n' rollers, it often becomes the central theme in songs. So "Free The Weed" became a hit, especially among vapers who use a wax pen (weed e-cigarette).
Weedsconsin was recorded and mixed by the late John Hopkins (Sleep, Old Man Gloom, Boris, etc.) at Future Apple Tree Studios in Rock Island, IL in October 2020, and was mastered by Carl Saff (Big Business, Elder, Magic Circle, etc.) at Saff Mastering in Chicago, IL.
Weedsconsin is available for pre-order here.
