According to the press release, Hell Fire hasn't even been around for 10 years. I'm not sure I believe that, and instead posit my own theory that they're just a kickass heavy metal band from the 80s with a time machine.
Regardless, Hell Fire has teamed up with yours truly to premiere a brand new track called "Isolator" today. The song goes to show that no matter if Hell Fire is ripping down the highway at triple-digit speeds, or in this case slowing things down a bit, they still rule.
Vocalist and guitarist Jake Nunn says Hell Fire's new record Mania is based heavily on personal experiences.
“Thematically, everything on the album comes from personal experiences,” says guitarist Tony Campos. “From the highs of partying together out here in Oakland, or the nostalgia of being a kid learning Zeppelin on a beat up guitar, to the extreme lows of isolation, personal trauma, and mental illness. Sonically we want our records to sound like you're standing in front of the stage at a show. The power of Marshall stacks in front of your face, drums at your ear level, thunder of the bass and feeling the presence of the room.”
