Judas Priest is now streaming their new single "Panic Attack" and rest assured, it's exactly as heavy as anything on Firepower. Which is great because that was easily Priest's best album since Painkiller.
"Panic Attack" has everything from some hard-hitting double kick bits, shredding solos, and Rob Halford sounding like he hasn't aged a single day in the past few decades. I can also see what Richie Faulkner was talking about in terms of the new material being a little more progressive too, in that the whole intro to "Panic Attack" feels like the start of a prog rock jam. Though maybe the rest of the record leans harder into that?
Judas Priest has a new record called Invincible Shield due out on March 8, 2024. Pre-orders for Invincible Shield are available here (and here in the US) in a dizzying array of configurations. One of which is a massive box set featuring two vinyl editions with both the regular and alternate covers, the regular and deluxe CD vesions, a picture disc, cassette, and a 7" with three exclusive bonus tracks.
