Of Course, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Shreds In New Song "(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum"

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Cannot Destroy This Guitar

Swedish shred overlord Yngwie Malmsteen will release his new album Parabellum on July 23, and is now streaming the shreddy new single "(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum". In case you forgot that Malmsteen can shred, because he can.

"'(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum' is a piece of great difficulty," said Malmsteen. "Octave arpeggios it is very satisfying to apply this extremely challenging violin technique to my own composition. Starting in B harmonic minor, it transposes to D natural major and then into F# Phrygian. It is a natural flow within the chord progression of relative keys and modes.

"It was very challenging and exciting to perform this piece and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do."

Parabellum's cover features a portrait of Malmsteen painted by David Banegas. The original painting will be auctioned off to support children in foster care, though no additional details are currently available on that.

Parabellum is available for pre-order here.
