Black Flag has always been one of the heavier punk bands, though the folks over at CVLT NATION have taken things up a notch. They've put together a cover album of Black Flag's 1984 record My War, which includes such bands as -(16)-, No Funeral, Hellkeeper, Fange, Disrotted, and Devoidov.
It doesn't quite stay true to the original in that it's about 500% more distorted and sludgy, though that's the point. Why rehash the original?
Plus this is an awesome shout out to a lot of excellent heavy bands you might not have otherwise heard of. So definitely get on those beyond this compilation! Check it out below and grab it for free here and here.
