A few weeks ago we reported the bummer news story that one of our favorite bands, Desipised Icon were breaking up. The band didn't cite any drama as reasoning for the decision but merely a few members being "too old for this shit" and having to deal with family first. So, when this live footage popped up, posted by HardcoreSounds, I was excited to see the band is not slowing down as the end draws near for them. DI were always one of the most intense live acts I've ever seen and I look forward to seeing them one last time whenever they make it back to the States.
Additionally, frontman Alex Erian was interviewed at the show, and spoke more about the breakup. He stated drummer Alexandre Pelletier and guitarist Eric Jarrin stated they couldn't tour anymore, and the band decided that it wouldn't be the same without them so they called it quits. He did mention that once Despised wraps up, he was going to start a hardcore band and other members were going to experiment with a grindcore band but was quick to say neither project would probably tour because of the hardships of a new band on the road. It's good to hear that at the very least, we will be getting some new music from these talented Montrealians (is that even a word?)
