Last we checked in with Trapt, the band was blaming SJWs for cancelling a show in Detroit, and then also inviting the notorious Proud Boys to their shows. It now looks like their continual admiration for Proud Boys got them kicked off of Facebook for good.
Metalsucks reports they have gotten multiple reports from people who reported the band to Facebook for hate speech getting similar responses back from Facebook – their report was taken into consideration and the band has been banned.
Trapt's page had over 596,480 followers, although that didn't exactly translate to first week album sales for the band this year. The band has since taken to Twitter to confirm they've been banned.
The reason for the banning was a post endorsing the Proud Boys as a pro-Trump social club and not racist, a claim disputed by Southern Poverty Law Center. The band has been sharing Proud Boys memes on both platforms, and it looks like Facebook had enough. The band remain active on Twitter, and are encouraging fans to join them on Parler, a new conservative-friendly social network.
Basically, things are going great for Trapt.
