Earlier this week, Revocation and guitarist Dan Gargiulo parted ways. Gargiulo said he left the band "so that my bandmates can move forward" and "to focus on other aspects of my life and other musical endeavors." Now Revocation has posted their own statement, saying the split was amicable and the next record will be written as a trio.
"What’s up everyone, we’ve got some important news to share with you all.
"Dan has announced today that he is leaving Revocation. Over the past decade we’ve toured the world together and have released 5 full length records and an EP since he joined, needless to say we’ve had an excellent run. There is no bad blood between Dan or any of the members of the band, it was simply time for him to change paths and focus on other musical and life endeavors. We wish him nothing but the best in the future and we’re excited to hear his next musical offerings. We’ll miss ya DG!
"Writing is currently well underway for our next full length, we plan to continue on as a 3 piece for now but we'll be bringing in a 2nd guitar player down the line once we start the tour cycle for our next full length."
The new Revocation record will be the band's first as a trio since Existence is Futile in 2009.
